Tour de France Monument
On Sunday 6th July 2014 the Tour de France Yorkshire Grand Depart came to Sheffield with the 198 kilometre York to Sheffield route finishing outside the Arena.
On this day the world's press were inside the venue, the thousands of support vehicles that made up the event entourage were parked up in the car park and what felt like the whole of Yorkshire was on our doorstep as the race ended outside the Arena.
Vincenzo Nibali not only won stage two outside the Arena but also went on to be crowned the overall 2014 Tour de France Champion with a permanent monument erected to mark the occasion at the bottom of our car park.
